Dear friends in Christ,
With Pentecost marking Bishop Vasquez’s lifting of the temporary dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass, I am excited to invite you back to your parish home.
Although we have continued to worship together and connect as a parish family in new and creative ways over these many months, I am sure you will agree that there is no comparison to celebrating the Eucharist in person, in our church. I miss each and every one of your faces and am eager to see you all back in the pews each Sunday and holy day.
Whether you have been a part of our parish family for a few months or many years, your presence has left a unique mark on the life of our church. Again, during the past year, we've missed seeing you and we're excited to welcome you back and build an even stronger parish community!
I understand that some parishioners may be reluctant to return to in-person worship, and I want to assure you that we will continue to take appropriate precautions to keep our congregation safe. If you are apprehensive, please reach out to me directly so I can personally address any concerns you may have.
As we are a “family of families,” I would also like to ask for your help in checking in with other members of our parish, as well as your friends and loved ones, and inviting them to come “home” with you. They may simply need someone to offer extra guidance on their journey of faith and, as stewards of Christ, we are called to walk together so all may know the love of God.
And as we begin to return to normal, we will cherish all the opportunities for community and fellowship that we will be blessed to share with one another.
We've planned some events in the upcoming weeks that we'd love for you to participate in. To the left you will find details about our Welcome Back events - please click on each event for more details.
I pray that our community is always a sign of hope to the world.
